Our very first project, VoltH2 Vlissingen, will be located in the port area of Vlissingen (Zeeland). We will provide a green hydrogen factory with a capacity of 25 MW at start-up, which we can expand to 100 MW in due course. In December 2021, the municipality of Vlissingen granted us the necessary permits.
The factory in Vlissingen will produce green hydrogen from wind energy by means of electrolysis.
The hydrogen will be stored on site. Thanks to its strategic location on an industrial estate of 30,000 m2, which is easily accessible by road, rail, the North Sea and inland waterways, we can easily distribute the hydrogen to potential customers. Industrial companies in the port can use our green hydrogen to decarbonise their activities.
At start-up, the factory will produce a minimum of 2,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year. But the design of the hydrogen installation allows for a future expansion up to 100 MW.
