To realise the ambitions of the European Green Deal, fossil fuels must be replaced by renewable energy sources as soon as possible. The production of more wind and solar energy is an absolute must, but will not suffice. Green hydrogen will become increasingly important in the future energy mix. Especially in sectors that consume a lot of energy and are therefore very polluting, green hydrogen will even become essential to achieve the required sustainability.
We are fully committed to this evolution by realising the much needed production capacity within Europe. Since VoltH2 was founded in 2020, we have developed concrete plans for production locations in Vlissingen, Terneuzen and Delfzijl (NL), and in Wilhelmshaven and Essen (Germany). With the five current locations in the Netherlands and Germany, VoltH2 has a portfolio with a potential production capacity of 500 MW.
